Solar System Emergency Shutdown Procedure
Shutdown correctly to avoid damaging solar equipment.
Not following the correct procedure may result in electric arcing, which can cause unrepairable damage to your system, or worse - physical harm such as cardiac arrest and third degree burns.
Your Solar system may have different switches depending on the electrical standards that were current at the time of your solar installation, and the type of inverter you have.
If unsure, please contact us on 07 5443 5029 for guidance.
Turn Solar Supply Mains Switch Mains Switch OFF in Meterbox
Go to your inverter, turn the Switch marked INVERTER AC ISOLATOR to the OFF position
Turn the switch/es marked PV ARRAY DC ISOLATOR to the OFF position.
You may have one switch for each array, make sure you turn them all to the OFF position.
You may also have an isolator switch built in to the bottom of your inverter - if so, turn this switch to the OFF position.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Switching off PV array DC isolators DOES NOT de-energize the PV array (panels) and cabling - your solar panels will still have live DC electrical current.
Start-up procedure is the above steps in reverse.
